About this artwork
A family of Brazilians sees for the first time what clear cutting has done to their home. In the background is the butchered rainforest. In the foreground the family looks in dismay at the deforestation across the lake. The family is mother, father, two adolescent boys, a younger brother, and the mother holds a baby. The artist painted the original oil after reading At Play in theFields of the Lord, by Peter Mattheson.
This is a small square… painting, and the additional images show it framed in a simple black wood frame that doesn’t detract from the dramatic image. The original oil painting is for sale on this website; this is a giclee print on canvas, and available in various sizes up to 28 x 28.
