About this artwork
Transitional portrays a child, somewhat doll-like in body but with a humanely expressive face. She sits in a material-draped setting (like vintage photos) and looks out curiously at a butterfly in a surreal world. Like other digital paintings in this series, Child is metaphor for a world of wonder. It is created in monochrome to enhance a feeling of timelessness and to suggest photographs that never were. Available in a limited edition of 10, each…
work is numbered, signed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Each 13"x19" image is available mounted on wood painted black on its edges -- shown in the adjacent 'opening night exhibition" photo. Or each image can be shipped on archival paper with a 2.5" white border, suitable for framing. A few images have been matted with black and set in a black wood frame, at added cost --shown in the adjacent photo with artist. Each image (mounted, framed, or paper only) counts as 1 of 10.
