About this artwork
Transitional is a digital painting that occurs near midway in the Child Out of Time series. It portrays a transitional child, somewhat doll-like in body but with a humanly expressive face. She sits in a material-draped setting (like vintage photos) and looks out curiously at a butterfly that, along with a flower, appears. Like other digital paintings in this series, this work depicts a surreal, imagined place and time in which Child is metaphor for…
a world of wonder, with everything happening and everything standing still. It is done in monochrome to enhance a feeling of timelessness and to suggest photographs occurring out of time. Available in a limited edition of 10, each work is numbered, signed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The image size is 19"h x 13" w on archival paper. It can be pigment-printed on larger, archival paper for mounting or framing.
