About this artwork
In Polka Dot a universal child-doll connection is explored. Although she has a doll-like face, her realistic legs and sneakers foretell a contemporary world. As in all works in this series, Child is metaphor for a world of wonder, a time of knowing what is not really known. It is created in monochrome to enhance a feeling of timelessness and to suggest photographs that never were. Available in a limited edition of 10, each work is numbered, signed,…
and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Each 13"x19" image is available mounted on wood painted black on its edges -- shown in the adjacent 'opening night exhibition" photo. Or each image can be shipped on archival paper with a 2.5" white border, suitable for framing. A few images have been matted with black and set in a black wood frame, at added cost --shown in the adjacent photo with artist. Each image (mounted, framed, or paper only) counts as 1 of 10.

Janet Strayer is an artist based in Canada whose paintings have been featured in both solo and group exhibitions nationally.
