About this artwork
BirdCentral is part of recent collection of artwork created for Strayer's 2019-2020 Vancouver show "Wings of Imagination"-- about winged creatures, flying machines, and ideas taking flight. This engaging assemblage of painted and natural materials presents a fantasy rural landscape with decorative birdhouses in a geometrical urban setting. Multiple colourful points of interests and a range of materials (acrylic paintings, twigs, cloth leaves, duralar)…
invite detailed viewing while, overall, the whole remains coherent and suggests a figure-totem. Ready-to-hang hardware on wooden backing.
