About this artwork
In this work, I capture the moment of a quiet, clear morning—an atmosphere in which thoughts organize and new perspectives open. Inspired by the effects of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, I translate this inner state into color, texture, and light. Using acrylic, varnish, and fine spray layers, I build multiple layers that shift depending on the viewing angle. The result is a work with an almost object-like presence that carries this calm and… clarity into the space and invites pause.
Janette Wölwer is a painter with a German-Spanish background who uses mixed media and incorporates her experience in dramaturgy, marketing, psychology, and meditation into her art. She works atmospherically and contemplatively, combining organic processes, tactile materiality, and the interplay of light and color into expressive abstract compositions. Her works make invisible biochemical processes of body and mind visible, filling the space with resonance and depth to evoke feelings of joy, balance, and tranquility in the viewer.
She is a member of the artist group Studio Zehn in Cologne, Germany.
