About this artwork
Painting of, hopefully, the last snow this spring in Latvia. Although it is already April, it snows almost every day, and the cold keeps the spring from coming. Which means that some other part of the world is getting the warmth that was supposed to be here.

Janis Zingitis is a Latvian painter who has exhibited nationally as well as in Austria. He believes that realistic representation is the highest degree of abstraction, as humans are only capable of perceiving a small fraction of reality. Through his compositions, he wants to capture the world’s soul and reveal it to others. In the past, he has worked with watercolors, pastels, acrylics and collage. Currently, he is rediscovering his love of oil painting.
