About this artwork
As a cute boy I contacted girls and kissed them; nothing else mattered. My father was jealous, treating me harshly and degradingly, wishing me to be mentally ill. Humans I met bullied me whenever women were present and I was afraid. None showed love, intervened, or offered life advice. I was anxious, baffled, frustrated, and alone and fought for acceptance anywhere. I developed severe depression and retired early without knowing why.
A shaman later… revealed the truth: they were jealous of me and my beauty. They were fake, selfish, unloving, and determined to block me from the intimacy with women they could only dream of.
Tribal patterns, keywords, death crosses, and hearts are against evil, controlling, selfish, and fake humans, as well as the system itself. The work champions cute humans who are true, kind, and endlessly loving and have a free, easy, tolerant, and calm tribal life.
I want to let it go, my anxiety, and be a free lion king, true to myself, and hunt women and kiss them.
Jasper Borup, a Copenhagen-based artist, uses mediums like pencils, rulers, and a compass to create on paper. His technique involves a liberating expression of colorful, aesthetic abstract patterns overlying motifs of good versus evil. By layering squares, circles, and triangles, he channels the abstraction of his strife towards the cruelty in the world. His works serve as a cathartic venting of his pent-up frustrations and mental anguish, transcending into a profound journey for peace, love, and harmony.
