About this artwork
A Personal project to screen print and collage using currency as a background. I started this project to set limitations upon my self to work small. The last 12 months i have only been working on very large pieces of 2 and 3 Metres in length for shows in London and New York and really needed to push my skills in the opposite direction to produce miniature landscapes. Jayson Lilley is an exciting British artist who has exhibited his work throughout the UK and US. He incorporates his love of architecture— especially Brutalism and Art Deco— into his urban landscapes, constructing vibrant scenes that are always accompanied by expansive skies and plays on salience and colour. Technically, Lilley combines painting and collage techniques in an overall process of innovative printmaking, and ultimately achieves an impactful artistic aesthetic.
