About this artwork
In this oil work, I delved into the world of surrealism and symbolism to explore deep human emotions. I play with shapes, perspectives and colors to depict an altered reality that appeals to the soul. This painting invites reflection, evoking a mysterious harmony between dream and reality, leaving each viewer with a unique experience. It will bring dynamic energy and a touch of eternal questioning to your interior.
Jean Louis Mendrisse is a French painter and sculptor who has exhibited both nationally and in the Netherlands. His art depicts diverse emotions and moods, celebrating life and humanity in search of the past and meaning. Mendrisse also expresses the ephemeral through themes that include seduction, arguments, shyness, doubt, family, and dance. He paints using oils and acrylics on canvas or linen and also employs screen printing and lithography techniques. His sculptures are made with bronze, resin, and plastic.
