About this artwork
In this work, I captured the all-consuming passion that seizes two souls when they merge in a kiss. Using oil for its richness of colors, I mixed the figurative with expressionism, to breathe life and emotion into the canvas. Bold contrasts and evocative lines evoke fiery intimacy, while deep reds and blues heighten passionate dynamics. This painting is a celebration of love and humanity, intended to revive the spirit of liveliness in every home.
Jean Louis Mendrisse is a French painter and sculptor who has exhibited both nationally and in the Netherlands. His art depicts diverse emotions and moods, celebrating life and humanity in search of the past and meaning. Mendrisse also expresses the ephemeral through themes that include seduction, arguments, shyness, doubt, family, and dance. He paints using oils and acrylics on canvas or linen and also employs screen printing and lithography techniques. His sculptures are made with bronze, resin, and plastic.
