About this artwork

Using oil paints, I employ a poignant surrealism to reflect the divide between nature and human technology. This tension evokes a reflection on our environmental impact and the often-ignored communication between humanity and nature. This painting brings a powerful energy to any space, provoking dialogue and introspection.…

Jean-Marie Gitard (aka Mr. Strange), painter and digital artist, draws inspiration from the surrealism of Dali, Magritte, and Hooper. Using photomanipulation and digital collage techniques, with a rare use of oil paint, he creates enigmatic works with touches of absurdity. His works blend poetry and sharp criticism, arousing surprise, curiosity, and reflection by straddling the real world and the imaginary.
