About this artwork
In this work, I play with surrealism to explore the contrasts of the human personality. A man in an elegant suit and formal hat displays a joyful smile, contrasting with a small, unexpected and fragile yellow bird, perched in front of him. This juxtaposition evokes a reflection on the social masks we wear and the true nature we sometimes hide. This art will highlight the complexity and luminosity in your space, inviting contemplation and conversation.…

Jean-Marie Gitard (aka Mr. Strange), painter and digital artist, draws inspiration from the surrealism of Dali, Magritte, and Hooper. Using photomanipulation and digital collage techniques, with a rare use of oil paint, he creates enigmatic works with touches of absurdity. His works blend poetry and sharp criticism, arousing surprise, curiosity, and reflection by straddling the real world and the imaginary.
