About this artwork
I created this oil painting to capture that blend of wonder and audacity in the face of the unknown. This figure, poised to take off for the moon, embodies our deep desire to explore and dream beyond earthly limits. This surrealism invites you to feel the vibrant energy of the night, to dream big and dare, each glance inspiring the conquest of the impossible within your own space.

Jean-Marie Gitard (aka Mr. Strange), painter and digital artist, draws inspiration from the surrealism of Dali, Magritte, and Hooper. Using photomanipulation and digital collage techniques, with a rare use of oil paint, he creates enigmatic works with touches of absurdity. His works blend poetry and sharp criticism, arousing surprise, curiosity, and reflection by straddling the real world and the imaginary.
