About this artwork
Of course, Salome didn't have glass clothes, but she certainly had clothes that she knew how to make transparent... Here, she can remain very demure if you want her that way, her dresses neatly arranged, flying discreetly or a little more. But you, the interpreter of this sculpture, can make her much more alluring, attractive or enticing. You just have to organize the dozens of modular elements of her dress as you wish! It's up to you to imagine…
all the movements that the dress would take in a frenzied dance... What did Herod expect from it?
Sculpture in PMMA glass, composed of more than 150 modular elements.

« "With the modularity of my sculptures, the spectator/collector is no longer just "looking". They become actors. I wrote the score, they become my interpreters." »
Jean Paul Boyer’s sculptures have been exhibited throughout his native France, Europe and China. Boyer continuously questions how to work with the air, or the “void”, that surrounds the material of the sculpture. He denies having a style, and allows himself the freedom to delve into all interpretations and techniques. His process starts by fabricating a model with any material he happens to have on hand, then the works evolve using wood, metal, marble, cardboard, etc.
