Jean-Roch Focant works in painting and drawing, with a background in graphic design, printing, and screen printing, enriched by the Summer Academy of Plastic Arts. He creates material abstractions using only three colors—red, yellow, and blue—applied in sand mortar, glue, and pigments, often by hand, creating a rich and instinctive texture without prior sketching. His spontaneous and sensory style reveals raw emotion, transcribing his moods, feelings, and revolts with intensity and authenticity, inviting everyone to feel the work at its most intimate. In a second axis of more recent creations, the author says: "I write motifs to paint emotions, moods," .... I can write 1000 "thank you" motifs to "send" 1000 thanks to someone who deserves them. Recently, I wrote 1900 "54" motifs to evoke the year in gestation in my mother's womb. I was born in November 1954.
