About this artwork
In this work I sought to convey the power of emotions through the striking contrast of bright colours against dark tones. The scarlet red and luminous yellow burst forth, representing passion and hope, while the deep blacks add a mysterious depth. It is a painting that vibrates with great force, intended to captivate and stimulate an energy.

Jean Soyer is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium and Japan. He describes his works and inspiration as being based on the energy that we all have within us. Soyer translates breath, freedom of gesture, and "letting go", influenced by the Chinese Masters of calligraphy. His bold lyrical abstract compositions are mostly created using oils on canvas.
