About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the serenity of a moment facing the seaside landscape. The red traces on the gray background evoke a feeling of movement and fullness at the same time. I sought to express balance and serenity, the way strong emotions can emerge from tranquility. This painting invites contemplation and inspiration.

Jean Soyer is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium and Japan. He describes his works and inspiration as being based on the energy that we all have within us. Soyer translates breath, freedom of gesture, and "letting go", influenced by the Chinese Masters of calligraphy. His bold lyrical abstract compositions are mostly created using oils on canvas.
