About this artwork
Artistic creation can mainly be described as a conversation of an artist with himself.
Abstract painting is like instrumental music - no text, no description, no figure, but certain feeling while we watch the painting or listen to music is existent. It can not be precisely described and defined, but it seems that we can perceive emotion or story that the artist convey, although without confirmation by lyrics in song or exact figure in the painting.… This is exactly what I want to highlight in my art.
Soft pastel blue painting with dark grey and black elements, inspired by silica white/blue water which contrasts black lava stones in Icelandic Blue Lagoon. The painting is calming and fits into any space. Frame is wooden narrow and canvas is deep edge that accents texture and brush strokes

Icelandic painter Jelena Antic's work has been exhibited throughout Serbia, Iceland, and the United States. Antic works in acrylic and sometimes spray paint to create series inspired by subjects ranging from the Icelandic glacial rivers to metaphysics. Antic paints very quickly, so she often works in diptychs so she can continue working on the same idea while the paint of the first work dries. Antic's works are bright, conceptual, and often involve abstract patterns.
