About this artwork
In this painting, I explore the texts as part of the artwork, highlighting the layers of meaning we read everyday but as we are so used to seeing them we do not think about them in a deeper way.
Quote "EVERYTHING NOT SAVED WILL BE LOST" was used on a quit screen of famous Super Mario Galaxy game and for me serves as a poignant reminder to take a good care of everything that I love.
The mosaic of golden squares is made using the traditional technique… of guiding using artificial metallic gold leaves. They symbolise our values, precious moments or material objects that we cherish and appreciate, each unique and ephemeral.
This piece is a bold, reflective expression intended to evoke contemplation and appreciation in your space, infusing it with a warm, golden glow that highlights the beauty of the transient.

Icelandic painter Jelena Antic's work has been exhibited throughout Serbia, Iceland, and the United States. Antic works in acrylic and sometimes spray paint to create series inspired by subjects ranging from the Icelandic glacial rivers to metaphysics. Antic paints very quickly, so she often works in diptychs so she can continue working on the same idea while the paint of the first work dries. Antic's works are bright, conceptual, and often involve abstract patterns.
