About this artwork
In creating this piece, I sought to merge the philosophic though on the phenomenology of art work and how we read and perceive art with how text or a thought can become work of art.
Text is a quote from Arthur C. Danto, one of the most influential art-critic authors and philosophers in theory of art, and I find it very striking. I extend the thought from Danto in this whole series of text based works where I explore how we perceive different text… from different sources and how it affects us.
Each letter, meticulously designed with acrylic and spray paint, embodies a semi-abstract, symbolic dance between visibility and ambiguity. Through this, I explore the paradox of art: its tendency to conceal as much as it reveals.

Icelandic painter Jelena Antic's work has been exhibited throughout Serbia, Iceland, and the United States. Antic works in acrylic and sometimes spray paint to create series inspired by subjects ranging from the Icelandic glacial rivers to metaphysics. Antic paints very quickly, so she often works in diptychs so she can continue working on the same idea while the paint of the first work dries. Antic's works are bright, conceptual, and often involve abstract patterns.
