About this artwork
In this piece, I am using text as a subject to my painting. Through the layers of acrylic and spray, I've embedded a symbolic narrative, a cryptic dialogue with myself. Emotions entwined with words, it's a glimpse into the artist's mind, stirring a first time public introspection.

Icelandic painter Jelena Antic's work has been exhibited throughout Serbia, Iceland, and the United States. Antic works in acrylic and sometimes spray paint to create series inspired by subjects ranging from the Icelandic glacial rivers to metaphysics. Antic paints very quickly, so she often works in diptychs so she can continue working on the same idea while the paint of the first work dries. Antic's works are bright, conceptual, and often involve abstract patterns.
