About this artwork
This work isn’t about what’s on top but what’s underneath and how we got there. The process of this piece was emotional. Underneath it all is a lot of resentment and a lot of judgement. But in working through all of that I had to go back to the basics and keep it simple. The thick layers of paint remind me of the scars from the challenging moments from before, covering old mess with a new palette that blends as one to create a beautiful piece.
