About this artwork
In this piece, I used acrylics, sand, natural earth pigments and spray to create a multi-dimensional painting that captures a turbulent, yet hopeful, beginning. The cracks and textures symbolise transformation, while soft earth tones echo a calm beneath chaos.
This work breathes energy and resilience, offering an abstract journey that invites you to feel both struggle and harmony - perfect to ignite introspection and vitality in any space.
Jenna Myllykoski is a mixed media artist from Ylöjärvi, Finland. She creates fascinating abstract paintings characterised by their organic textures, gestural movements, subtle colour variations and the delicate interplay between light and shadow.
Myllykoski's work radiates chaos, transformation, and the raw beauty hidden within, urging viewers towards introspective journeys of personal freedom and individuality. The sand textures often evoke feelings of natural landscapes, geological formations or foreign planets, leaving the viewer with lots of freedom to interpret what they see.
Jenna has been painting using acrylics and mixed media since 2020. Physical movement is a big part of her creation process, with each movement guiding the almost meditative process from one phase to the next. In order to create her signature textures, Jenna uses her own sand-based texture pastes, which she mixes to suit her needs. This way, each work of art comes out totally unique.
