About this artwork
In crafting this artwork, I delved into the whirl of emotions that converge when different paths intersect. Utilising acrylics, natural earth pigments, spray, and the visceral texture of sand, I sought to capture the turbulent yet mesmerising beauty of such collisions. Each swirl embodies the intense yet fleeting moments of connection, inviting viewers to reflect on their own personal encounters and the profound impacts they leave behind. This piece… is not just a visual experience but an emotional journey, promising to bring a dynamic and contemplative energy into any space it occupies.
Jenna Myllykoski is a mixed media artist from Ylöjärvi, Finland. She creates fascinating abstract paintings characterised by their organic textures, gestural movements, subtle colour variations and the delicate interplay between light and shadow.
Myllykoski's work radiates chaos, transformation, and the raw beauty hidden within, urging viewers towards introspective journeys of personal freedom and individuality. The sand textures often evoke feelings of natural landscapes, geological formations or foreign planets, leaving the viewer with lots of freedom to interpret what they see.
Jenna has been painting using acrylics and mixed media since 2020. Physical movement is a big part of her creation process, with each movement guiding the almost meditative process from one phase to the next. In order to create her signature textures, Jenna uses her own sand-based texture pastes, which she mixes to suit her needs. This way, each work of art comes out totally unique.
