« My works are small bits of architecture placed in the landscape. My intention is to transform the viewerʼs environmental experience with intrepid, minimalist, and abstract forms. »
Jennifer Asher, an American sculptor, expresses concepts relating to rebirth, renewal, transition, and joy in her works. She is fascinated by the contrast of bold clean forms set amidst the unrestrained beauty and chaos of nature. The interplay of reflection, shadow, as well as positive and negative space, are all considered during the creation of her compositions. Asher begins with a sketch, then makes a full-scale wooden maquette. Her pieces are made using steel, stainless steel, weathered steel, or copper.
