About this artwork
Medusa was created within the context of my Paradoxical series. This series on sleep was artistically significant and symbolic; Medusa was a female figure who resonated with the sculptures of the artist who accompanied me in this exhibition—it was a duo show with the sculptor Bénédicte Parmentier. The intense contrast between acrylic and charcoal creates a vibrant dialogue between strength and delicacy. I love the raw power of black on Indian cotton…

Jennifer Miville, a painter and printmaker originally from the Lower St. Lawrence region, has a solid background including a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University and an award-winning background in set and costume design.
