About this artwork
This portrait is of the daughter of master painter Odd Nerdrum, painted from life. Painting her was one of my fondest memories of studying at the Nerdrum school. This portrait in particular took a long time in order to master her likeness, along with creating a soft and innocent atmosphere. She is very delicate and has a charm of youth in her spirit; both of which I aimed to capture here.

Jesse Nickell is an established artist from the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions internationally. After studying the great masters, Nickell defined his style in classical painting, exploring themes of the human condition and experience. He only paints from live models and currently uses a palette of just four colors: red, yellow, black, and white.
