About this artwork
This painting was inspired by a recent trip to Rome. At the Colosseum I learned that the Roman government would give its citizens free bread and entertainment (circuses) to satiate and pacify them. It was an effective way to keep the population from thinking too much or challenging those who held positions of power.
All of my work is created using high quality professional paints and mediums. Each painting is varnished, gallery-wrapped with black… hand-painted edges, wired, and ready to hang.
