About this artwork
I sat down and painted. I did my best to not think, because heaven knows I paint like shit when I think. Plus when I think, I can't really paint, so naturally I sat down and didn't think. And when I finished the painting, I got back up and started thinking again, which was a stupid thing to do. Pretty simple.

« Creativity is a path best explored the long way around. »
Jessica Stepushyn’s art was, and still is, driven by the need to socially isolate herself from “the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune”. The Canadian painter and sculptor’s compositions vary widely in their themes, from the concepts of particle and wave physics to geometry, color, and the subconscious. While Stepushyn ‘shuns realism’, she also isn’t averse to creating silly, generic, or superficial pieces. Her style, techniques, and mediums are in a constant state of evolution.
