About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the vibrant and energetic essence of marine life using warm tones and intense textures in oil paint. The semi-abstract image of a scorpionfish's gaze conveys a strength and mystery that invites you to dive into its depths. Having this piece in your space will create a dynamic and passionate presence that ignites the imagination and a connection with nature. Always watchful.
Joan Sureda
Spain
Joan Sureda Torres, born on the island of Mallorca, Spain, primarily uses color as a form of expression, employing painting techniques on canvas and drawing on his self-taught background after beginning as a draftsman. His style is characterized by an evolution from dense figuration towards minimalism, where he fuses surrealism, metaphors, and messages in compositions of giant fruits, instruments, fantastical landscapes, and architectural fragments. His works convey a joyful and dreamlike connection with nature, inviting viewers to contemplate the poetic beauty in the everyday.
