About this artwork
Insomnia’s Arithmetic traces the body’s rebellion against temporality—a photogrammetric autopsy of minutes stretched into migraines. Here, light becomes a somatic echo: the shutter left ajar to metabolize darkness, while the lens traces restless geometries of *almost-sleep*.
To frame fluttering is to interrogate the corporeal as a failed clock. Are these blurs the nervous system’s vernacular, or the retina’s surrender to luminous fatigue? (One… recalls Barthes’ *punctum*, here inverted—a wound that refuses to scar.)
The work breathes in the lineage of Sugimoto’s seascapes and Cahun’s fractured self-portraits, yet dwells in the metronomic dissonance unique to 3 a.m.
