This work was born at sunset, while Olivia García was performing “Pa poderte invocar.” Painting it live forced me to respond to the music unfiltered: color as a heartbeat, gesture as breath. In this piece, I mixed acrylic, pastel, and oil, allowing each material to act as a distinct voice within the same emotion.
The dark vertical axis—crossed by an orange jet—functions as a totem, a point of invocation that sustains the painting's energy. Around… it, the planes vibrate like internal states activated by the song: the deep violet opens a space of mystery; the neon green bursts forth like a signal; the yellow expands like a breath; the pinks and reds ignite to the rhythm of the voice.
The quick, almost impulsive brushstrokes capture the moment. Nothing is overthought; everything is felt. The mix of techniques allowed for the superimposition of wet, powdery, and oily layers that still seem to move, as if the music were still playing upon them.
Joaquín Acevedo is a visual artist whose work stems from a fundamental principle: to think and explore like a child. For him, art is not a rigid destiny, but a state of wonder where play is the artist's most serious work.
His practice eschews limiting labels, transforming ordinary materials like wood, Legos, moss, and cardboard into extraordinary pieces. This freedom has led him to explore live art, notably his participation in the Alto Sessions alongside artist Olivia García, where he fused visual creation and spontaneity in real time.
Understanding art as "pure emotion" and a bridge that needs no translation, Joaquín creates an emotional diary that connects immediately with the viewer. This universal vision has taken his work to global markets, with pieces sold in Miami, New York, Vancouver, and Kyoto, solidifying an international career that celebrates the innocence and creative power of playfulness.
