About this artwork
This mostly red abstract was inspired by a bistro under construction in Knoxville, Tennessee. I got a quick look in the door while builders were working and could see that booths and walls were all red. A single table was installed in one booth. I wondered if it was to be red eventually. Then I thought about the plates to be used on it and thought they might be red as well. Those red features made their way into an abstract painting which, when finished…
as you see it, seemed to indicate tectonic plates, shifting about on the planet as we know they do.
