About this artwork
Made from pure sheet copper and 18 carat gold leaf. Various techniques of oxidation reveal the bold colors of copper patinas, evoking the rolling ocean waves. Unlike the copper, the gold remains perfectly intact during the oxidation process. It is permanent and enduring.

Joel Douek is an experienced sculptor from the United States whose work has been featured in solo and group shows nationally.
