About this artwork
This sculpture was created using copper plate, gently formed into curves, then treated using a number of techniques to reveal the blues and greens or oxidized copper. The copper is 'suspended' on a hand carved wood base, which continues the sense of twisting and turning.
I find that the vibrant colors created in these natural process tell a story of flowing water. Of rivers and oceans and whirlpools, always changing, always evolving, always in motion.

Joel Douek is an experienced sculptor from the United States whose work has been featured in solo and group shows nationally.
