About this artwork
Before starting each of my works, I delve into my treasure drawers. A keen flea market enthusiast, I hunt for small objects every weekend, which I then retrieve from their hiding place when the time for creation arrives. More than the aesthetic heart of the canvas, they symbolize this capacity for renewal, for new life, for hope. For Graellsia Isabelae, I needed a large object to fit within the canvas's dimensions. a base coat of gesso to my butterfly before illuminating it with the colors of the painting. After that, it's a game of patience, an improvised dance with the canvas in search of the most beautiful harmony.
