Johanne Doucet is an award-winning French-Canadian painter who has extensively exhibited nationally. She translates her ‘universe of liberty’ through the unharnessed fragility, beauty and strength of the horse. Doucet allows her creative process to take on mystical and spiritual qualities, as she paints from memory and not from photographs. She first establishes a watercolor and acrylic background, then uses dry pastels to complete the composition.
