Trying to overcome the initial complexities of narrative, light and shade and colour and composition, is such an important part of the process. There is just something so magical about seeing the great artists studies, to witness them thinking through these problems in every quick spontaneous brushstroke. Seeing through the layers of the technical process is like watching a lifetime…
of artistic practice and experience come to life on the canvas, a true privilege.
