About this artwork
The original "Contemplation" painting that started the series. However, this one actually had more to do with transformation than working something out at the time. John's original painting may be the only one is the series painted with a brush.

John Barney is an American artist whose paintings have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions nationally. Formerly a school psychologist, he is fascinated with the concept of people working out issues in their personal lives. Therefore, Barney's portraits often portray subjects in "serious countenance". In addition, he is also intrigued by the hidden story a piece of art conveys, as the viewer's psyche and personal life experience will "fill in the blanks".
