Two souls floating about - trying to become whole. Ghosts of a kind, you might say, and yet there is a common bond between them. Their "real" selves might live in this world - and yet we feel as if they are vestiges of the past - perhaps suffering in some way or looking to right a wrong. John Barney is an American artist whose paintings have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions nationally. Formerly a school psychologist, he is fascinated with the concept of people working out issues in their personal lives. Therefore, Barney's portraits often portray subjects in "serious countenance". In addition, he is also intrigued by the hidden story a piece of art conveys, as the viewer's psyche and personal life experience will "fill in the blanks".
