John Hazel, a self-taught painter hailing from rural Central California, whose works are in watercolors having cultivated talent through sketching, drawing and lifelong creative exploration. When I picked up a brush and painted my first watercolor in 2016 at age 67 I did not comprehend the impact of that moment on my life and the new paths down which it has taken me. I never intended to embark on a path of publicly displaying or selling any of my paintings, because they were for my own enjoyment. But, with time a conviction developed to share beyond friends, family and the walls of my home what have been gifted to create.
