About this artwork
This silkscreen painting is on natural cotton canvas using UV pigments and acrylic inks. The "electric" screen was applied randomly and the accidental image of what looked like two cowboy boots appeared in a UV light. I am from the West Texas town of El Paso and the two-step is a well-known western dance. It brought back a familiar image and it will never be duplicated since it was randomly produced. The images of the light-colored canvas are…
when natural light is only used. The bright color canvas is when a UV bar light is used above the painting. The easy-to-install bar light is included with the price of the painting. The painting is ready to hang without a frame.

« I see the world as a symphony of color and pattern and the visual interpretations I create are a lasting impression of what I see. »
John Spears is an experienced artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally. He describes his artistic practice as not following a school of thought, rather, he is inspired by the exploration of patterns, both random and organized. Spears primarily creates using silkscreening techniques, employing a palette and squeegee like a paintbrush.
