About this artwork
Hello,
This work is a revisit of a favourite scene in Hampshire near Mottisfont Abbey. I have painted it several times and revisited the scene this summer for the first time in 5 years.
I hope to display this work at the New Forest exhibition centre this spring, the work is housed in a simple black frame.

« All those like me who follow this artistic life, are looking for a quiet place to germinate and grow in a mad world. »
John Welsh is interested in the visceral response of the viewer. The UK-based painter and photographer’s work captures emotion and feeling through landscapes, abstracts, or figures. He works solely using oil paints on canvas and has a preference for creating on larger surfaces. Welsh employs a technique that applies successive washes, building up the image over time.
