With this acrylic painting, I present a stylized depiction of Marlene Dietrich in a pensive pose. The portrait is a homage to the timeless Hollywood icon. Through the powerful use of light and shadow, particularly the way the golden tones radiate from the dark background, I sought to give the image a cinematic quality while simultaneously emphasizing the strength, seduction, and enduring elegance of the great diva.
What was important to me was creating… a sense of charisma, not a perfect reproduction of a photograph. My goal was to create a work that exudes character and artistic passion.
I think my work could appeal to collectors of nostalgic motifs and lovers of vintage glamour, Art Deco motifs, and fashion history.
As an artist, I am always looking for dialogue, for the emotional connection that arises between me, my work, and you as the viewer.
