About this artwork
Jonas Eideloth's drawings are extraordinary unique pieces on paper. Inspired by the value of freedom, the individual works are created from a combination of pencil, charcoal, oil paint and ink. The artist takes up the process of a life path during which an individual personality is formed.
At the same time, these drawings serve as preparatory work for his sculptures and yet stand as unique works for themselves.
In the drawings, the figures seem… to be in constant motion, between dissolution and concrete form. In this way, the works become elegant and visionary statements for freedom and individualism.
The drawing takes up Michelangelo's Adam and reinterprets him.

Jonas Eideloth is a German draftsman and sculptor who has exhibited his works nationally, in Italy, and Spain. As an artist, he advocates for the freedom of the individual. In Eideloth's compositions, the people create themselves, they emerge on paper, break out of hard stone and urban dirt, forming into independent people. He utilizes symbols to represent the paths of life, as a statement of freedom. He creates using ink and graphite on paper, as well as stone and marble.
