About this artwork
I made this plein air painting of the water from the south bank of the Spree River in Berlin, Germany, in a small forest called Plänterwald. I painted the scene on-site in a matter of 3 or 4 hours on a hot, July afternoon. I was drawn to the colors reflected in the water from a tree hanging over the water from the bank of the river.
