About this artwork
This photograph is a modern exploration of the themes and aesthetics of the classical masters of painting, particularly the influence of Caravaggio (chiaroscuro) and mythological scenes.
A Bacchante, a devotee of Bacchus, is captured here in a moment of contemplation. Far removed from the bustle of Dionysian festivities, the ivory drapery reinforces the allusion to classical statuary and Baroque paintings, while the soft, directional light highlights… the texture of the fruit and its enigmatic expression. It is a work about light as emotion and about the timeless beauty of a simple gesture.
Technique: Fine Art Photography. Studio lighting and retouching inspired by painting techniques.

My work is an exploration of intimacy, where words fade away to give way to feeling. Deeply influenced by the power of chiaroscuro and the legacy of masters such as Caravaggio, I seek the dramatic tension between shadow and light. For me, shadow is not a void, but a refuge where our deepest truths lie hidden.
I focus on humanity, not in its perfection, but in its vulnerability. My works explore our flaws and wounds, those fragilities we often try to hide. Through stark contrasts, I pay homage to the beauty of our imperfections: each shadow is a respected modesty, each burst of light a resilience.
Being of a reserved temperament, I see the act of photographing as a silent dialogue. My art is an invitation to accept the shadow side that dwells within us, for it is precisely there that light is most revealing.
