About this artwork
This painting was created as a study for a potentially larger canvas. I am currently working on a series of paintings focusing on nude and semi-nude women in public spaces. I am intrigued by these images as they seem taboo; with an almost voyeuristic attitude to them.

At the age of 15, on a trip to the Art Institute of Chicago with his parents, Jonathan Mcafee was stopped in his tracks by Warhol's 'Mao,' and definitely marked the start of his artistic pursuits. Today, Mcafee is busy composing expressive portraits centred on the theme of memory.
