About this artwork
The images of buildings, which can be easily found in urban spaces, are used as materials that represent my impression of cities. And in these images, I combine anonymous human figures that I can easily find in our daily life.
Then, I use colors and drawings to express the impression of the artificial colors and solid structures… of the city that I have found. I express our fables that are destroyed in capitalism as works of art.

« Chronic feelings of anxiety have captured me, living with people obsessed with success. »
Joonhong Min is a Korean artist, based between London and Seoul. His work is focused on creating depictions, through drawing and sculpture, of city buildings using a minimal colors palette, primarily black and white. His buildings are intentionally overwhelming and daunting constructs. Their larger than life scale exemplifies the magnitude of space, both physical and cultural, which large, economic hubs often take up in urban centers.
